2,000 athletes from more than 200 countries will travel to Hungary's capital from 19 to 27 August to do their very best at the World Athletics Championships. With its breath-taking panorama and a brand-new athletics stadium, Budapest provides the perfect backdrop for exciting competitions.
Fascinating competition program from day 1
The competition program ensures high tension on each of the nine event days. On the first evening, medals will be awarded in the men's shot put, the women's 10,000m and the 4x400m mixed relay, followed by at least four winners on the other evenings.
In addition to the stadium competitions, the walking and marathon decisions will be held in downtown Budapest, which is a World Heritage Site.
