Gemma Ray (* 1980 in Essex) ist eine britische Sängerin.
Ray wuchs in Essex auf und begann zunächst eine Ausbildung als Reisekauffrau, die sie aber abbrach, um sich vollkommen der Musik zu widmen. Seit ihrem 15. Lebensjahr komponierte und sang sie eigene Songs. 2004 veröffentlichte sie mit ihrer Background-Band Gemma Ray Ritual das Album Radiology, 2005 Navy Blues und 2006 From The Teeth / White Bait. 2007 veröffentlichte sie ein Lied auf der Kompilation Raw & Unplugged In New Cross. Von 2006 bis 2007 litt sie an einer nicht näher bezeichneten Krankheit, die sie zu langen Krankenhausaufenthalten zwang. Während dieser Zeit entstanden viele Lieder und der Entschluss, ohne Band aufzutreten. Seit 2008 tritt sie als Sängerin und Songwriterin alleine auf. 2012 veröffentlichte sie das Album Island Fire. Rays Musik wird als 1950er-/1960er-Retropop bezeichnet, der sich an Vorbildern wie Nancy Sinatra orientiert. Gemma Ray lebt in Berlin.
