About MANOWAR:
In 1980 a new band exploded on the metal scene that would write metal history and change the lives of millions; with songs that have become battle hymns and a sound like no other. Capturing audiences around the globe with their message of hope and perseverance and a passion and determination that has defied any obstacles since. Their name: MANOWAR!
With unfaltering courage to always do what they believe in, this band has weathered even the most unconquerable challenges. For over four decades, MANOWAR have been giving their fans what they love them for: the massive, powerful soundtrack of their lives, songs that celebrate the audacity of the individual and the spirit of the community, and qualities such as loyalty, honesty, and integrity.
Numerous gold and platinum records and more than 40 tours including headlining performances between 10,000 and 50,000 sold-out seats testify to their status in the metal universe.
MANOWAR’s worldwide loyal fan base is also showcased in their live events: For the band’s first self-organized Magic Circle Festival for example, fans traveled from more than 40 nations to join this celebration of metal, and at any MANOWAR concert a sea of flags document the distances their worldwide followers travel to watch their favorite band and unite with their fellow “Manowarriors”.
As a tribute to this devoted international following, MANOWAR’s 2009 release “Thunder In The Sky” achieved another first in Heavy Metal history by featuring the power ballad, “Father” in 18 different languages (and counting).
Coinciding with “The Final Battle 2019 World Tour” MANOWAR released the eponymously titled EP “The Final Battle – I” and fully remixed and remastered re-issues of their milestone albums “Into Glory Ride” (now “Into Glory Ride Imperial Edition MMXIX”), and “Hail To England” (now “Hail To England Imperial Edition MMXIX”), utilizing brand new analog to digital 96kHz quality transfers of the original master recordings.
After a historic, first-ever headlining performance in Mexico in 2020, hailed by over 50,000 ecstatic fans, MANOWAR have returned to the stage with their “Crushing The Enemies Of Metal Anniversary Tour”, including another headlining show at Release Athens Festival 2022, with an action-packed production and the live premiere of “Highlights From The Revenge Of Odysseus”, a project inspired by Homer’s Odyssey. Legendary Greek actor Kostas Kazakos (aka “the Greek Orson Welles”) and his son and fellow actor Konstantinos Kazakos contributed narrations in Ancient Greek for this project, translated by musician Sakis Tolis of the band Rotting Christ.
Celebrating the anniversaries of eight signature MANOWAR albums, “Crushing The Enemies Of Metal Anniversary Tour ‘22/’23” features an epic new production and a blistering set list full of immortal classics. The band around founding members, bassist Joey DeMaio, and vocalist Eric Adams is completed by guitarist and shred legend Michael Angelo Batio and drummer Dave Chedrick.
For 2024 MANOWAR announced the re-recording of the 1984 album “Sign Of The Hammer”, proclaiming that it shall be released as "The Sign Of The Hammer 2024", promising “the same brutality from the first release, combined with the inspiration you have all provided over the years, amplified by the power modern technology offers. The 2024 release will blast the ground and melt your faces more intensely and louder than ever, delivering maximum metal!”
In early 2025 will set out on their "Blood Of Our Enemies" Tour 2025 during which they will be playing two unique sets. On alternating nights, MANOWAR will perform the entire "Hail To England" and "The Sign Of The Hammer 2024" albums respectively, and each evening will showcase fan favorites from MANOWAR’s entire career!
MANOWAR also confirmed that they will release a brand-new studio album with fresh tracks at the beginning of 2025 that “will crush the enemies of metal and unite our Manowarriors the world over, under the banner of True Metal; stronger than ever!” according to the band. The album will be recorded at Asgard Studios New York and will be written and produced by Joey DeMaio.
